Samsung Galaxy S II Is the Most Anticipated Smartphone of the Year

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S has been tirelessly working to enhance the Samsung brand at the high-end smartphone segment, it is a battle that it is slowly losing and Samsung has decided to act quickly by launching a replacement model for the phone. The Galaxy S II will be the phone that will be launched in order to make the Samsung S retired into the sunset having accomplished the task of making Samsung a well-known brand in the high-end smartphone industry.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will be coming with a number of new features including a new design that is expected to make the Samsung phone even more appealing. Hence, it is not only going to be appealing in terms of the features, but also in terms of the design as well. The maximum thickness of the Galaxy S II will be just 8.5 mm. Even though it is extremely thin, it still comes with a display that measures 4.3 inches in size. This might not be the massive difference between the 4 inch unit of the Samsung S, but in terms of the technology that both screens use, the Galaxy S II is miles ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will be coming with the latest version of the TouchWiz user interface that was recently developed by Samsung in order to make the Android operating system be more efficient. It is not only efficient at handling the power from the 1 GHz processor, but also in terms of the running of the applications as well. Of course, being the Android operating system, there are expected to be lots and lots of applications available for the Samsung Galaxy S II. They can be stored in the internal memory that is split up into two different options. There is a 16 GB version that will be retailing for ? 699 in the UK. There is also the 32 GB memory option for the Samsung Galaxy S II. Of course, you can also add the family after buying the phone since the phone does come with external memory card support of up to 32 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy S II will be using all possible connectivity options that can be included into a mobile phone without hurting the battery life. Hence, it comes with options like the Wi-Fi, 3G, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v 3.0, microUSB v 2.0 and USB On-the-go. It is quite an exhaustive list that features every single form of connectivity option that is present in the high-end phones of today. Hence, one needn't rely on just the single option to get any information onto the phone. The 3G option in the Samsung Galaxy S II will be of particular concern to many since to be able to support up to 21 Mb per second in terms of the download speed. The 32 GB Samsung Galaxy S II is all set to be available from March for a price of ? 708.

Tooth Tag

The all new app from Android called Tooth Tag.

Wow, the smart phone by Android is getting even smarter than its competitors. Android 2.1 has a new application called Tooth Tag that has been put together by the group NeuAer programmers. This smart device is supposed to make your life easier and more fun while you are out and about.

There are a few proximity-based applications out on the market and probably still more to come because of the great information that Tooth Tag has to offer. The Android Tooth Tag does not rely on GPS but is uses radio signals such as Near-Field-Communication (NFL) and WiFi technology and of course Bluetooth devices. This Tooth Tag application lets you tag Bluetooth and WiFi devices, so when these devices are tagged and they come with range of where you are it will send you an alert or email, how ever you have it set up in the settings of the app.

Again this is a free application for the Android 2.1 but the negative problem is that is going to frustrate many people is that it does not work on the iPhone. I am sure it won't take long for technology and programmers to come up with a similar application for the iPhone. Developers of this NeuAer ProxPlatform are saying that there will be plug-ins for this application in the near future.

An example how the application works

Let's say that you and your friend are out hunting in a dense forest and you tag your friends blue tooth. All of a sudden your phone starts vibrating because you have gone to far away from your friend and it just warned you that you have disconnected from your friends Bluetooth. This is an awesome application for keeping track of your children. This is called a disconnect event.

A connect event that would come in handy for me is this. Let's say I drop a tag in my ex-wife's cell phone, I am out with my girl friend at a local restaurant. My phone sends me a text or email telling me that my ex is within the parameters. This may save my night of enjoyment and a long awaited fight with my ex-wife because I was able to make a quick exit thanks to this great application on my phone.

If you have an Android phone give this application a try. Let me know what you think of it. Being free what do you have to loose. iPhone users, I am sure that you will see a similar application for you in the very near future.

Saving the Earth Through Recycling Your Mobile Phones

Here's a Shocker About Electromagnetic Radiation Dangers and Cell Phones

Here's a shocker about cell phones: the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which offers recommendations on U.S. cell emissions does not have a single health expert on its payroll. To top this they base these standards on advice given by outside experts, many of whom just happen to work directly for the wireless industry.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not have the power to set the guidelines for cell phone electromagnetic radiation and can only step in if a phone is shown to release dangerous emissions.

The electromagnetic radiation standards became even looser in 2004 when wireless industry designers and researchers discovered a way to change the software used in the phones, increasing the memory and developing the 'smart phone'. This basically doubled the amount of radio frequency reaching into the brain of an adult and quadrupling it for children.

The bone around a child's brain is thinner, their heads are smaller and their brain doubles in the first two years of life and keeps on developing until their early 20s. The electromagnetic radiation dangers are therefore more intense for younger minds.

This fact was established through the early pioneering work of Professor Om P. Gandhi, the leader of the University of Utah's electrical engineering department.

Has anyone ever thought to ask the question about how the amount of radio frequency which is emitted by a cell phone is determined? The standards are set using the head of a 200 lb man who ranked in the top 90th percentile of all military personnel in 1988.

Why should the amount of cell phone radiation entering our brains matter? Our bodies naturally work on electrical impulses, which allow our muscles to move and our minds to think. Note the word naturally however. The electromagnetic energy produced by man to operate microwaves, cell phones, computers, Wi-Fi, power lines and so forth, is man-made and not compatible with the naturally produced currents of our bodies.

Devra Lee Davis, PhD, MPH, Director of the Center for Environmental Oncology, University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and former environmental health scientist with the National Academy of Science has written in her book, "Disconnect: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Has Done to Hide It, and How to Protect Your Family", that electromagnetic radiation dangers related to human health will not be known for many years.

ABCNews.com spoke with Davis about her cell phone "expose" in October 2010. She believes cell phone radiation has risen to the point of being a National Emergency. Here are some quotes from her interview:

"...Here's what I know about brain cancer: It can take 40 years before it develops after exposure starts... after the bombs fell on Hiroshima, there was no increase in brain cancer 10 years later in the survivors...no increase 20 years later. The increase only showed up... after 40 years of exposure."

"It's not the amount of radiation, it's the nature of the signal... it's the pulsed, digital nature... constantly searching for a connection with a cell tower... in areas of weak reception... the radio signal has to increase as the phone seeks a connection."

Everyone loves the convenience of cell phone technology. I love the convenience of everything the cell phone can do, but we seriously need to protect ourselves from the health problems they are producing, along with all other electromagnetic radiation emitters, such as computers, Wi-Fi, cell phone towers, household appliances, power lines etc.

Acer Iconia Smart Boasts a Very Large Screen

Size always matters whether it is in the natural world or in the artificial world. It is this that has forced Acer into launching the Acer Iconia Smart, which is all set to wage war in the high-end of the smartphone segment. It will be landing the title of being the phone to be having the largest touch screen display and it is going to have this title by a long mile. The current king of the smartphone industry when it comes to the screen size has to be the HTC Desire HD or the Samsung Galaxy S II, but it seems that the Acer Iconia Smart will be taking the title that it is set to hold for a long time.

This because the screen of the Acer Iconia Smart measures an incredible 4.8 inches in size and it is so large that some might be confusing this phone for a tablet PC. Such is the enormity of the screen that will force many in order to look upon this phone as the King in this segment when it comes to the screen size. Acer, however, does not seem to have focused entirely on the screen size and they have also given the screen plenty of other features as well. They will be including a fantastic resolution to start off with and it will be 1024 x 480 pixels. This high resolution is probably the only thing that will be justifying this screen size and it will be able to impart a special kind of feeling. The 4.2 version of the Acer user interface is being used in the phone to make best use of the largest screen.

The camera is also quite brilliantly equipped with an eight megapixel sensor that can take high quality images without too much of a sweat. It is also partly due to the presence of a number of features including the face detection, image stabilisation and HD video recording, which will be done at 720 p at 30 frames per second. While the rear camera is going to be an impressive eight megapixel one, the secondary camera that is used in the phone is also not a slouch. It will be a two megapixel unit that will be using the 3G option in the phone to make video calls whenever and wherever. It will also be capable of making use of the Wi-Fi connectivity options as well. While these connectivity options will be allowing the Acer Iconia Smart to connect to the Internet, the DLNA option in the phone will be allowing the phone to connect to the other devices in the vicinity.

The Acer Iconia Smart is capable of extreme performance, not only in the department of screen, but also in terms of the processing speed as well. The usage of a 1 GHz Scorpion processor is the reason for it, while there the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system to take care of.

Voicemail Transfer Services To The Rescue

Almost everyone at one time or another has received a harassing phone call. Do you remember what it felt like to have your personal "space" violated - when suddenly a simple phone call made your home feel less secure? It's unnerving when someone can reach out to you and make an obscene or threatening phone call. When this happens, our anger and frustration (even embarrassment) can get the better of us and leave us in a state of confusion and we don't quite know how to deal with the matter. The inability to act can lead to prolonged problems.

Protecting Yourself against Harassment

Of course the smart thing to do is to avoid the phone call - just don't answer; but not all phones are equipped with caller I.D. information and it's easy to spoof a phone number with modern technology. The best way to protect yourself against harassment via obscene or threatening phone calls is to simply let the calls go to the answering machine or voicemail system.

This kind of threatening behavior and verbal harassment can easily tip into assault and is illegal. Putting a stop to the behavior can be difficult but voicemail transfer can simplify the process - especially when you use a professional service that offers a certificate or affidavit of authenticity.

What is Voicemail Transfer

Professional services are available that can access your voicemail to make a copy of one or more messages that have been left in your voicemail. Voicemail retrieval and transfer can be done either with digital systems or with answering machines that may still use some form of cassette tapes. When the data is transferred you no longer have to worry about losing the voicemail or using up space in your voicemail box. Your messages can be burned to a CD or transferred to another format such as a cassette tape. Digital downloads are also available from some transfer companies.

In cases where there is an obscene or threatening phone call and subsequent voicemail, having a hard copy of the voicemail can be beneficial when working with investigators as you can provide a copy of the message(s) in question for legal pursuits.

Likewise, when working with a professional agency they do provide a certificate of authenticity as previously stated. This is important because it shows that the copy you hold is indeed an exact replica of the original message. Without it, if the original message were to get deleted there's no standing proof to show that you or someone else did not tamper with the recording - or that the recording actually came through a voicemail at all.

Enhancement of Voicemails during Retrieval and Transfer

Sometimes an obscene or threatening phone call can sound garbled, muffled or less-than intelligible when played back through voicemail. There may be unwanted background noises, electronic interference, or somewhat inaudible speech or other sounds. This can be made worse if listening on low-quality equipment (like a phone speaker). It might even get worse if you try using a low-quality microphone to record it.

A professionally handled voicemail however can be certified and it can also be enhanced for better listening by the judge or jury. Forensic transcription from a qualified linguist can provide additional insight into what's being said in the harassing voicemail. A forensic linguist can help in clarifying the identity of the caller and the meaning of messages which may seem ambiguous.

All of this information can be provided along with the copy of the voicemail to be used in managing a case with law enforcement.

If you're dealing with harassing or obscene phone calls that are threatening to you in any way, take the time to get voicemail recordings or record the conversations that take place. That recorded message or conversation can easily be retrieved and transferred by a professional and will aid you in putting a stop to the unwanted behavior. However, if recording conversations, be sure to check on the legalities of doing so in your area. Laws vary from location to location.

How to Choose a Cell Phone Plan to Save Money and Get More Features

Choosing cell phone plans is overwhelming due to the number of carriers and plans available. There are a few key points to keep in mind when making your selection to ensure you've chosen a plan that suits your needs. Although it seems like carriers are trying to trick, you, there ARE techniques that allow you to get what YOU want.

Deciding What You Need

In order to choose a cell phone plan, you first need to know what the coverage is like in your area. There is no point in buying a cell phone which you can't use in your own home! Ask your friends and family what carrier they use, as well as what their coverage is like in your town. Make sure to ask the cell phone carrier what the boundaries are before you are considered roaming, because you don't want to pay roaming fees in your own town. Additionally, if you often travel, you need to ask the carrier how much it costs to call, text, and use data (if applicable) when you are roaming.Next, you need to identify how many minutes you use in a month. If you currently have a cell phone, contact your carrier and ask them how many minutes you use each month. If you do not have a cell phone, consider this: Allow three minutes for each phone call you would typically make. For example, for someone who makes one phone call per day, they would want a plan with 100 minutes per month. However, most carriers have times each day when calls are free, and some plans allow for free incoming calls. These two features will reduce your required monthly minutes.Consider how many text messages you send in a month. Again, if you currently have a cell phone, you can call your carrier and ask them how many text messages you send each month. If you do not have a plan that includes text messaging, most companies charge 15 cents per text message! For example, if you send 5-10 text messages per day, you should look for a plan with 250 text messages per month. Consider unlimited text messaging if you send more than 100 text messages per day. Upgrading to a plan with unlimited text messages is usually better value than adding an unlimited text messaging add-on to your plan.Decide whether you need data. Many "smartphones" available these days require data to access internet, email, and other online services. If you think you'll only surf the web occasionally and you don't get much email, 100MB per month should be plenty. If you occasionally watch videos and listen to music online, you should consider getting 500MB. For people who love YouTube, consider looking for a plan with unlimited data. Data add-ons are often cheaper than upgrading to a plan that already includes data.Be sure to ask about contracts. To get your phone at a reduced price, most phone companies require you to sign a three-year contract. (If you want to pay full price for your cell phone, you do not need to sign a contract). If you break this contract, you'll be required to pay a large fee. If you want to upgrade your cell phone on the middle of your contract, cell phone companies allow this. It is usually cheaper to finish your contract before getting a new phone. Regardless of whether you think you'll want a new phone, be sure to check how long you have to wait before you can upgrade your phone, and what fee they will charge.Use retention plans to your advantage. If you do not have a contract with a cell phone carrier, you can call customer service, explain that you are not happy with your current service, and ask to be transferred to the retentions department. You will be able to get extremely cheap cell phone plans which have excellent features, because cell phone carriers will do a lot to keep you as a customer. For this tip, make sure to refer to the "getting what you want" below, to make sure your conversation with the customer service representative goes smoothly. The last time I used this method, I was able to cut my costs by 30% and get about twice as many features as I had before, saving me $700 per year!

Once you have decided what you need out of a plan, search until you find a cell phone plan that meets your needs. There are many carriers and plans available so you are guaranteed to find one that is the right fit for you.

Getting What You Want

If you find an advertised plan that you are happy with, you can sign up online, or in the carrier's store. Online is the fastest and easiest way to get your cell phone plan. Keep in mind that if you go into the store, sometimes they might not have the phone you want in stock, so you may have to wait a week or two before picking up your phone. If you want the carrier to make you a special deal, you will need to phone in and talk to one of their customer service representatives, or CSRs. Below are some tips to make sure you get the best possible deal by talking to your CSR.

The MOST important thing to remember when you talk to CSRs is to remain calm. Many of us have hectic lives and we love taking out anger on others, but you need to KEEP CALM. This means no yelling, screaming, threatening, or being nasty. CSRs deal with hundreds of people every day, and if you give them respect by being nice, they will return the favor. You want to ensure the experience is mutually positive.Realize that your CSR is a real person. They are only trying to do their job (which is helping you). Do not blame them for "messing up your account;" they are only there to serve you. Additionally, do not tell any CSR how to do their job - would you try to tell a police officer how to do his job when he pulled you over for speeding?Always get the name of the person who is helping you, and keep a brief record of what they say. Things won't necessarily work out on the first call, so when you call back, you need to know who you've talked to before. You can often use something a previous CSR said to your advantage, but without a name, there is no chance of the cell phone carrier honoring it. This is why it is ESSENTIAL to keep a record of who you have talked to and the things they said.If your CSR is truly unhelpful, don't be afraid to ask to talk to their manager. If you had a horrible experience at a restaurant, wouldn't you let the manager know? And if you did, do you think he would try to give you some coupons to come back? It works the same way when you are phoning your cell phone carrier.

By using the steps in this article, you can save money, get a plan that meets all your needs, and have great experiences with your carrier's customer service. I encourage you to go to http://www.phonesincanada.com/ to find more resources for Canadian cell phone buyers including phone reviews, instruction manuals, and more.

Samsung Galaxy S II Will Be An Android Flagship Phone for Months to Come

No other phone has secured a lot of attention like the original Samsung S prior to its launch. However, it seems that the records of attention that the Samsung S got could be easily broken with the launch of the Galaxy S II, which is a replacement model for one of the greatest phones in the last few years. Without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy S II has a lot to live up to and it seems that it can easily manage the huge pressure on the shoulders laid on it by the fact that it is a replacement model for the Galaxy S.

The Samsung S II will be able to more than just replace the Galaxy S by having features like a 4.27 inch touch screen display that will be using a display technology that is far superior than the Super AMOLED technology used to the original phone. It will be employing the Super AMOLED Plus display technology and it is currently the hot favourite when it comes to the display technologies being used by mobile phone manufacturers around the world. The incredibly large display will be used to hold the Android operating system. This phone will be using the 2.3 version of Android and it will be capable of being shown in the best possible way by the TouchWiz version 4.0 user interface. This new Samsung S II was unveiled at the MWC 2011 and it did not take long for it to top the interest ratings.

One of the reasons for it could be due to the 1 GHz dual core processor that is making its appearance for the first time in a Samsung phone. It will be used alongside the 1 GB of RAM, which is more than plenty for running the operating system. It could be the reason for this phone being able to run the operating system and the plenty of other high-end applications that are present in it. The usage of the eight megapixel camera in the Galaxy S II also makes sense because it would be improving on the five megapixel camera, which was used in the earlier phone. A similar way to the Apple iPhone 4, the new Samsung S II will also be available in two different memory options. There will be the 16 GB option and the 32 GB internal memory option, while the external memory card support to a maximum of 32 GB is standard on the phone.

The eight megapixel camera in the phone is capable of 1080p video recording, which will be available in Samsung phone for the first time. This video recording will be done at 30 frames per second, which is the most impressive part. The Galaxy S II has just been announced for the United Kingdom market and it will be available from March for a pre-order price of ? 580. Vodafone looks to be the network that is currently going to provide this phone.

Samsung Wave 578 Is an Excellent Mid-Range Smartphone

The Samsung Wave 578 is one phone that will be identified as one of the best mid-range smartphones phones of the current generation when it is launched in the United Kingdom as with many other countries around the world. The Samsung Wave 578 might be sounding as a mid-range smartphone only in terms of the tagline of being a Wave series phones. In every single feature of the phone, it will be close to the high-end smart phones of today. The main reason for this is due to the fact that it will be able to incorporate a number of technologies from its bigger cousin, which includes the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S amongst many others. It is something that other phones do not enjoy and this makes the Samsung Wave 578 one of the best buys in the segment right now.

The Samsung Wave 578 will be coming with a 3.2 inch display that will certainly make you believe that this is a high-end phone. This is due to the high resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, which almost eliminates the appearance of pixels within the screen. This could be due to the relatively small size screen, but also due to the TFT technology that it employs. It will also have the capacitive technology in order to make the Samsung Wave 578 recognise multiple touches. The internal memory of the phone might be just 100 MB, but it is more than well-equipped by the presence of expandable memory card support of up to 16 GB.

This is really fast memory to be having for the mid-range smartphone, but the Samsung Wave 578 can easily handle this amount of memory due to the presence of a powerful processor. This processor will also be having the task of running the Bada operating system. The version 2.0 is used in the Samsung Wave 578. This is the operating system that will be providing the best alternative to the Android operating system craze that is currently gripping the high end smartphone industry. The Bada operating system in the phone has meant that Samsung has been able to shift its focus on to the other areas of the phone without losing too much on the user friendliness aspect. This has resulted in the phone coming with a 3.15 megapixel camera that has been unseen in a mid-range smartphone before.

It will also be coming with a number of features like the Geotagging, and QVGA recording option. The QVGA recording will be done at 20 frames per second, which is certainly not the most outstanding feature of the phone. However, what is outstanding is that it will be coming with a secondary VGA camera that can be used for video calling. This is one thing that will definitely not be seen the mid-range smartphone segment for quite a while. This will be making use of the 3G option in the phone in the best possible way. The Samsung Wave 578 is expected to be available in Britain shortly.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Features an 8.1 Megapixel Camera for HD Video Recording

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo has an 8.1 megapixel camera for HD video recording and capturing still images. The camera is supported by an LED flash to enhance light when needed, and also used as a video light when shooting home movie clips. There is also a range of great software to help you.

The phone camera has automatic focus which provides a greater level of clarity for the overall still image quality, and makes it easier to snap the best picture first time. There is also smile detection software to detect when your subject is smiling and then captures the shot. This is in addition to also having both face recognition for up to five individual subjects, and face detection to automatically then set the correct level of focus on them for your picture. Finally, the camera has red-eye reeducation software too, which means that you can eliminate the problem of red-eye from your photos when you use the LED flash.

The Xperia Neo camera also allows you to create great video clips in High Definition at 720 pixel resolution respectively. The LED flash becomes a useful video light to enhance the scene and aid you in capturing great quality video. The video stabilizer also featured then allows you to avoid blurriness caused by your hand movements on the handset, to continue to capture only the best shots. The camera also features a digital zoom function for zooming in on your subject by up to 2.46 times, providing greater clarity still and also enabling you to emphasize different shots. In addition to the main camera, it should also be noted that the handset features a front facing VGA camera which can also be used for simple and quick self portrait image shots, as well as self-shooting videos. Are You a Cell Phone Addict?

What is cell phone addiction? Well it could possibly be defined as an unusual affection for your cell phone. Let's face it, we do things with our mobile phones that we would never think about doing with our regular phones. Even if our regular phone is cordless. And, most assuredly, we care about our cell phones far differently than we do about our landlines.

What is causing this widespread condition? Is text messaging the culprit? Maybe it's the ability to play music, play games, access the internet, or watch movies. Don't forget about the thousands of applications that can be added. Quite possibly the addiction may be caused by a combination of all these things?

Maybe it's the names that make them so attractive. Let's see, they are called iPhones, Androids, Smartphones, Blackberries, MyTouch, Palm - oh my goodness, who can resist.

How about you? Are you in denial about your addiction to your cell phone? You can find out for sure by asking yourself the following questions.

1. Do you start to convulse when you have misplaced your cell phone and suddenly realize you turned your ringer off?

2. Do you check your phone every half hour or more for missed calls, voice mail or text messages?

3. Do you take your phone with you to the bathroom?

4. When given the choice of either exceeding your minute allowance or using your regular phone, do you make the call using your cell?

5. Do you place a re-call 10 minutes after you have left a voice mail message?

6. Your mobile phone bill and your regular phone bill are both past due. You only have enough money to pay one. Do you pay your cell phone bill?

7. Have you ever sent yourself a text message just to make sure it was working?

8. When called on your regular phone, do you give the caller your cell number and tell them to call you right back?

9. It will be close, but you know you can make it to work on time. You get down the road a piece and find that you left your cell at home. Do you turn around?

If you answered yes to 1 or more of these questions, you may have a problem. Maybe you have a friend that you have noticed displays some of the characteristics in the above list. Well, you have come to the right place. There is a solution.

Apple iPad 2 Set to Kick Off Second Generation of Tablets

Everyone knows the Apple has a device that changed the whole tablet PC segment. However, taking a closer look at the extremely successful iPad will reveal that it is not the perfect Tablet PC by any means. It did not have a proper camera that will facilitate in video conferencing, nor did it have Facetime application, which made the Apple iPhone 4 so revolutionary. Instead, it was just similar to the original Apple iPhone, which was lacking in one of the aforementioned features. However, he did not take long for Apple to release the Apple iPhone 3GS and it seems to be the same case with the Apple as Apple have recently announced the launch of the iPad 2, which will be the successor to the Apple iPad.

The new Apple 2 will be coming with the same 9.7 inch touch screen display that was seen in the original iPad. This sticks with the philosophy of Apple in order to go along with the same size display in the replacement models. The display, however, seems to be slightly better due to the improvement of resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels. The major improvement, though, comes in the processor department. Instead of the single core processor than the previous Apple D, the new Apple iPad 2 will be using a dual core processor. This is expected to make the significant difference and Apple claims that this will be offering more than nine times the processing power of the original iPad. The super increase in the power will mean that you will be able to enjoy the games with better graphics without putting too much strain on the processor.

This will be translated into better lifetime for the battery on a single charge. It will be coming with up to 10 hours of battery life due to the increase in the efficiency. Another feature that gets a major revamp has to be the presence of cameras. This is something that was heavily criticised in the original iPad and it has been rectified to some extent in the Apple 2. It will be having a 0.7 megapixel camera in the rear, which will be capable of 720 p HD video recording. The front facing camera in the new Apple iPad 2 will be one that will be having a VGA resolution. The Facetime application is expected to make the difference when it comes to video conferencing because it will be able to use the secondary VGA camera in order to facilitate in video conferencing.

Given that all forms of connectivity options were present in the original Apple itself, you will be getting the same in the latest version of the Apple iPad as well. The Apple iPad 2 has just been launched by Apple and it is going to be available in the United Kingdom by the 26th of March. The United Kingdom is going to be one of the very first countries to be getting this new product from Apple.

The Facebook Smartphone Trend

Rumors of a Facebook phone have abounded for some months now, and every time a story surfaces, Facebook denies it is true. Now, despite Facebook's obvious distaste for having a "Facebook Smartphone" made, mobile phones have indeed begun to surface and they are equipped with dedicated Facebook buttons and the media has dubbed them, Facebook phones, even though they are not.

Facebook Phone Manufacturers

While Facebook is actively working with multiple handset makers to encourage the trend, the Facebook brand does not appear anywhere on the phone, except on the button. The manufacturers include HTC and a British manufacturer called INQ, both of which are releasing two different models, each with a Facebook button.

The idea is that the handset will come with a button adorned with the Facebook short "letter logo" that allows one touch access to user profiles while allowing automatic uploads of photos and music or share a website with a single push. Considering the Facebook logo is present, the phones will undoubtedly cost more than a "regular" smartphone. That said, are Facebook users willing to invest up to a hundred dollars more for an entire hardware platform just to have an easier time posting to their profile a cool tune they are listening to on their phone?

The Social Phone

What would be the point of building a handset that is designed to tie in to Facebook directly? Facebook is already available on every smartphone, laptop, tablet PC, or any Internet device with a keyboard and screen by way of a Facebook application download, which is available for any OS platform. For the dedicated Facebook user, the dedicated button would be a convenience and nothing more. Would users pay extra do be able to snap a photo and with the click of a single button upload the image to a Facebook account?

For those that are not dedicated Facebook users, taking time to log onto profiles and upload images the "old fashioned" way is not necessarily a problem. One has to speculate that it would be possible to have a programmable app to monitor user activity, and then prepare to upload the image, with user approval. In fact, many Facebook centric apps already do that and the app icon sits right on the home screen of the smartphone, so what is the difference between launching an app and pressing a button? The issue is whether a dedicated button is really that much of a productivity gain.?

A Facebook phone is more a representation of the established popularity of the social networking company, and the growth of the smartphone platform as a default network access and information-processing device. President Obama's wireless initiative is testament to that fact. A physical button is not really needed, and the reduction of steps necessary to upload information is not that important, save to those who are extremely active users. Some very legitimate groups make Facebook a key part of their professional lives and many companies have active profiles, using them for sales. Social groups also use Facebook to organize activities and update information to their members for social causes. If any group would have a "real" need for a "Facebook Smartphone' it would be them, right?

Real Facebook Phone Market

It is hard to imagine any company or social activist group spending thousands of dollars to equip their members with Facebook powered smartphones when simple, "ordinary" smartphones would do, just with a few more steps. So, for whom is the hardwired Facebook phone meant? Those for whom Facebook has become a necessary and important part of their social life and who believe the faster they update their statuses or get that cool pic uploaded, the faster the better their lives would be.

Hollywood mavens come to mind and as such, a market for these smartphones will exist because there will be those for whom Facebook IS the Internet. Then we will see others combining Android with customized, spec-based hardware to create their own phones, maybe even companies that, with enough employees, will go to China and have a thousand or so phones made to their own design specs. The mobile market was just born and there will be many new phones for many reasons, customized units, branded units and other variations are bound to happen, the Facebook pone was simply the first.

Nokia NFC Technology Might Meet Its Match In The Upcoming iPhone 5

The rumors that the new iPhone will be unveiled middle of this year has created another wave of rumors and discussions all across the Internet and continues to drag tech fanatics like yours truly into the bandwagon of gadget chatter and ESP predictions. But this time, tech gurus will surely need extra ESP to find out what Apple has in store or maybe hire a double agent to spy on Apple labs to at least get decent leak of information for the upcoming iPhone successor.

We were actually lucky with the current iPhone 4 because of the unprecedented accidental leak of an iPhone 4 proto-type that was left by a semi drunk Apple engineer who took it out to be field tested. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for us, he got a bit too excited on his birthday bash and after sending his last Facebook post via this proto-type iPhone 4, it was the last time he ever saw it. The next thing he knew, Gizmodo, a popular website was tearing the Apple pro-type apart thinking that it was an iPhone from the future since its features and design was very different from the current iPhone version of at that time which was the 3GS.

After some tedious experiments, they finally concluded that this phone was not a fake and it might just as well be a prototype of the next gen of iPhones to be released. And it sure was. Even if Steve Jobs and company didn't like that fact that Gizmodo kind of killed the excitement of the official unveiling of the iPhone 4, there was nothing much that he could do except be extra careful this time around.

As for the upcoming iPhone 5, just what can we expect from Apple with a leaked prototype? Well, there are rumors that Apple will attempt to knock off Nokia's NFC technology because so far, NFC or Near Field Communications is the direction of the future. With NFC technology in your mobile phone, you can use your Smartphone as if it was a credit card. You can buy concert tickets in an instant by "tapping" your NFC supported phone to a poster of a concert you would like to see and you can reserve and buy tickets at the very second.

Insurance companies are now considering this possibility because they are also now starting to promote iPhone 5 insurance in the UK. IPhone 5 insurance will likely have the same features of the current smart phone policies but if Apple will compete with Nokia with the NFC technology, then a variation may occur. Today, if you want to know more about the upcoming iPhone 5 and iPhone insurance, you can already have glimpse; the real score will most likely be June or July of 2011.

Choosing The Best Reverse Phone Lookup Service Is No More A Nightmare

If you want to do reverse phone lookup to get the owner's name and address of any cell phone or fixed phone number and if the phone number is not listed in the WhitePages or public telephone books then you probably need to seek a professional reverse cell phone search service. These services have legitimate access to private data bases of various mobile phone operators, companies landline phone, etc. Compiling and updating multiple databases from various companies in large numbers so that includes information on almost all mobile phone numbers of the subscribers in the United States. These databases include the names, verified addresses and other details of cell phones, fixed phones as well as hidden and private phone numbers.

Only reputed online reverse phone lookup services in the U.S. have legal agreements with fixed and cell phone companies to share information only to the their subscribers. Therefore, to become a subscriber, you need to pay a small fee by a credit card account / paypal valid for subscription. The individual reverse cell phone lookup companies charge a small fee to grant access to their databases to help providing a satisfactory customer service and avoid scammers from accessing their databases.

Is there a free method to do reverse phone lookup?

In fact, you could find the cell phone number in some public domains like White Pages, search engines, free classified databases, online social networks and so on. However, it will be difficult to ascertain the accuracy and authenticity of these data because anyone can create or modify it (as they are publicly accessible databases). There is also no guarantee to get accurate phone number from the public databases because they are obsolete. However, if you have all the free time in the world then you could give it a try.

What information can be obtained through a professional reverse cell phone lookup directory?

Almost all of these professional services are providing atleast the name and address for every phone number you want to find. However, some of the advanced services can also give additional details, such as household members, service carrier, how long the phone number is in use, alternative fixed or cell phone numbers, etc.

What are the best reverse phone lookup services available?

Well, there are many paid services available online, however the quality of databases will be a deciding factor in choosing the best reverse phone directory service. Companies with limited database can not help you finding the reliable information about their number. Therefore, the best service must be having access to a very wide range of data from several telephone companies. It must also provide various subscription rates ranging between $10 to $40. Another most important factor to remember is that they should also update their databases regularly so that members get latest information.

Blackberry Phones Setting Very High Standards of Performance

RIM (Research in Motion), the California based premier mobile phone company has from day one ensured one thing - no phone handset, repeat not a single phone handset - will leave its production units without undergoing very stringent quality controls and tests. This way, RIM has ensured that ea ch and every singly smartphone handset of its is world class. That is in terms of data networking and internet connectivity. It is truly and simply unbeatable. No wonder then that the the upwardly mobile corporate executives will simply not go for anything else other than the Blackberry smartphone handsets.

And on its part, RIM has also taught it fit to only stick with the higher end or at the most medium range smartphone market segments and not both at all with the basic or the budget market segment. It has also made it a point to not focus too much on the entertainment and multimedia features such as the camera device, the media player, etc. What is more most of the Blackberry smartphone handsets are not even touchscreen phone handsets. This approach is what sets the Blackberry phone devices apart from the rest of the market.

If you look a little more deeply, even the colour of the Blackberry as the name obviously suggests is something that refers to only serious business and professionalism. But change is the essence of life. And even the out of this world Blackberry smartphone devices are no exception to this law of nature. Thus, slowly and gradually as more and more competitors came up with smartphones that are similarly equipped and efficient as the typical Blackberry Phones and are also selling at dirt cheap prices, RIM also had to bring about certain change in its approach.

For one, RIM went out of its way and in close association with the network service providers who are active here, it made sure that all the new and existing Blackberry smartphone handsets are sold at prices which may not be cheap but not exactly exorbitant either. This has been accomplished largely due to the emergence of various cheap Blackberry Deals that sell the Blackberry smartphones through very reasonably priced monthly contract plans. Thus, anyone who can pay say anything from ? 25 per month to ? 45 would be getting most of the new and more prominent Blackberry smartphone handsets for free.

How Hotels Can Use Mobile Marketing to Increase Revenue and Improve Customer Relationships

By Robin Buxton Robin Buxton
Level: Basic

Experienced international online marketer, keen advocate of inbound marketing and SMS. A hands-on practical, individual, capable of thinking both strategically and working at the 'coal ...

Increasing Revenue

Think about the number of guests who visit your hotel annually. What would the difference be to your overall profit if you could tempt each customer to spend at least one pound/euro/dollar more during their stay? Using mobile marketing to promote your hotel's added services to your guests during their visit could help you accomplish this. This might be special offers/events in your restaurant/bar or any other additional service. However, remember that your guests need to opt-in to SMS marketing first. So, only send relevant SMS promotional offers to guests who have previously agreed to it. You can do this by:

Asking them when they check-in if they want to be kept informed of unique offers during their visit or in the future.By adding a txt2join unique keyword (a pre-determined word that customers text to a Virtual Mobile Number/Short Code) to the foot of an e-mail correspondence, reservation confirmation e-mail, or in your brochure, asking them to join the hotel's mobile club for unique offers from the bar, restaurant or leisure club.Provide a facility on your hotel website and/or your social media sites allowing visitors to register for SMS marketing offers.

Improving Customer Relationships

The great thing about mobile devices is that they are always with you, they are always switched on, and are mostly used by just one person. This presents hotel owners with a mass of opportunities to manage and improve their customer relationships and therefore increase revenue. Unlike any other medium, you can provide your customers with useful, highly personalised communications which can help you to build customer loyalty, increase revenue per customer, and gather valuable customer feedback.

Some useful ways you can use mobile marketing to improve your customer relationships are:

By sending a confirmation of reservation text message (this can even be automated from your website).By sending a pre-arrival text with up-selling offers, reservation reminders, events at your hotel or held locally which are taking place during their stay.By sending a text after their stay thanking them for their visit and offering them a discount code which could used for a booking in the future.Improve the satisfaction of your customers by sending them alert texts if there are any delays at the airport, on the the roads or any other local issues that could affect their arrival and departure.Gather feedback by texting a post-stay message that links to a customer satisfaction survey. This article has been viewed 35 time(s).

Mobile Phone Contracts: Set Your Desires Free

If you are planning to buy a new mobile phone, then go with mobile phone contracts. It is a better deal rather than purchasing handset and SIM card separately. As far as benefits are concerned, nothing can beat this deal when it comes to price, quality and service. This phone is famous in UK with other names as well, like contract phone and pay monthly phone. These deals are provided by networks such as O2, 3 mobile, T-mobile, Virgin, Vodafone and Orange. It also provides smooth and easy communication to consumers with minimum cost. Generally, people buy mobile phone and SIM card without checking the monthly cost and service. As a result, they have to bear lot of problem regarding communication service and call rates. However, this is the best deal where you can keep close eye on your monthly usage. It is also a best way to manage the monthly mobile expense effectively.

Before purchasing mobile phone contracts, it is mandatory for every person to know the advantages and disadvantages of deal. As we all know that we have to sign a simple contract with our favorite network provider for a specific duration. The duration of deal can be anything in the range of 6 months-36 months. However, this duration is selected by the consumer as per his/her personal view and choice. Companies always try to provide you long term benefits if you purchase contract deal. To sign the contract with service provider, you have to submit a small payment as security deposit against the contract package. In this package, you get one handset, SIM card, discounts, incentives and free gifts. Rest of the balance amount, you can payoff with easy monthly installments and monthly mobile bill. After purchasing this deal, you do not have to add the balance in your phone again and again.

Mobile phone contracts enable you to use the services entire month and you pay the bill later. Free gifts are offered by networks in many forms such as LCD, laptop, 12 month free line rental, cash back, text, minutes, mobile insurance, accessories, gaming console, iPods and many more. Finding the Right Cellular Repeater in a 4G World

Those who live in areas with limited cellular coverage are all too familiar with the tell-tale signs of poor cell phone reception: dropped calls, poor voice quality, weak signals and poor battery life. In recent years, as cell phone usage skyrocketed, those in rural areas found themselves limited to just a few carriers with spotty coverage in their area. Then, along came 3G cell boosters. Cell phone signal boosters for the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands have proliferated the market, offering improved voice quality, fewer dropped calls, faster data speeds and better battery life. However, in recent months, talk of 4G and "4G speeds" has crept into the consumer market. How do cellular repeaters fit into this new 4G market?

There is no doubt that in the very near future there will be a need for 4G cell phone signal boosters. Currently, major players are fighting for dominance in the 4G arena: Verizon, AT&T and MetroPCS utilize LTE (700 MHz), partners Sprint and Clearwire utilize WiMAX (2.5GHz) and T-Mobile uses HSPA+ (1700MHz). Verizon recently embarked on a three-year project to roll out LTE nationwide. By 2013, Verizon hopes to make LTE available to roughly 285 million Americans. According to projections from the WiMAX Forum, WiMAX coverage is expected to touch the one billion mark globally by the end of 2011. T-Mobile's 4G service is already available in over 135 U.S. cities.

With 4G coverage looming across the United States, it is important to clearly understand the role of 4G in your personal cell phone usage. Currently, 4G services are being utilized for data services rather than voice. Therefore if you are not a smartphone user or are just looking to improve voice quality on your cell phone, you probably won't need a 4G cellular repeater any time soon. Furthermore, in order to take advantage of 4G at all, you'll need a 4G phone. Currently, the selection of 4G cell phones is limited to just a few per carrier. Finally, you will have to check with your preferred carrier to confirm 4G coverage in your area.

Currently there is only one 4G cell booster on the market: the Wilson AWS Cell Phone Signal Booster. Slated for official release in Q2 of 2011, this amplifier boosts signal on T-Mobile's 1700MHz band. With a 60 dB gain, the Wilson 4G AWS Cell Booster is being introduced to the market at $399.95.

Individuals in rural areas who are already experiencing spotty 3G coverage are unlikely to experience 4G service in the next couple of years. However, as 4G coverage continues to expand, the demand for LTE and WiMAX cellular repeaters will no doubt increase and consumers will soon begin to see 4G cell boosters entering the market. Until then, learn more about boosting your cell phone signal with the latest 3G cellular repeaters. The author resource box below provides further information on dual band cellular repeaters.

Parent Planning for Kid Cell Phones

It is hard as a parent to set rules for cell phone usage for your children. Heck, its hard to decide when is the right time to give them a phone! In this article I will explore the variables that go into making the right decision for your child. Every case is different.

It is important to analyze the role of cell phones in the parents' lives before we assess the role it will play in a child's life. Parents should consider how much they rely on cellular devices for day-to-day tasks and communications. Our society has evolved, evolved so much that 75% of children, ages 11-13, have a cellular phone! While an important decision is when and which device to give your child, the most important question is what is your parenting plan?

While your household isn't a business, it's good to think out guidelines, if-then scenarios, limits, and discipline. Like most of parenting, leading by example is how your child will ultimately learn to use their phone. Are you the parent still carrying around the original Nokia, call and text only, or are you the always on the BlackBerry solving an issue, participating in conference calls, and scheduling meetings? I am in no way saying either is bad, it is a point of introspection; what will my child learn from me? Your habits and phone manners will become theirs.

Now that we've established the role your cell phone plays in your day to life, we can explore a parenting plan, or philosophy, that adults in your household will set for your child.

Parenting Plan Points:

Are cell phones always allowed to be on in the house? -Considerations: dinner, homework time, bed time, and family timeWill we teach phone etiquette? -When to answer the phone -Excusing yourself from the room or table -Texting while others are talking to youWhat should a kid cell phone be used for? -Calling certain people -Entertainment -Music -Games -All communicationsWho does the cell phone belong to? -Do you give it to your child only when there are situations that necessitate a cell phone? -Are they responsible for replacing it if lost, stolen, or broken? -Family phone - given to those who have a reason to use it?Will parents participate in same rules? -Explaining the difference of parental usage versus their privilegesPrivileges -Part of allowance - prepaid minutes -How to earn more privileges -What loses privileges -At which age does it become their financial obligation

These are just a few suggestions. Each kid and situation are different. These are good for somewhere to start when making decisions aboutyour parenting plan.
