Tooth Tag
The all new app from Android called Tooth Tag.
Wow, the smart phone by Android is getting even smarter than its competitors. Android 2.1 has a new application called Tooth Tag that has been put together by the group NeuAer programmers. This smart device is supposed to make your life easier and more fun while you are out and about.
There are a few proximity-based applications out on the market and probably still more to come because of the great information that Tooth Tag has to offer. The Android Tooth Tag does not rely on GPS but is uses radio signals such as Near-Field-Communication (NFL) and WiFi technology and of course Bluetooth devices. This Tooth Tag application lets you tag Bluetooth and WiFi devices, so when these devices are tagged and they come with range of where you are it will send you an alert or email, how ever you have it set up in the settings of the app.
Again this is a free application for the Android 2.1 but the negative problem is that is going to frustrate many people is that it does not work on the iPhone. I am sure it won't take long for technology and programmers to come up with a similar application for the iPhone. Developers of this NeuAer ProxPlatform are saying that there will be plug-ins for this application in the near future.
An example how the application works
Let's say that you and your friend are out hunting in a dense forest and you tag your friends blue tooth. All of a sudden your phone starts vibrating because you have gone to far away from your friend and it just warned you that you have disconnected from your friends Bluetooth. This is an awesome application for keeping track of your children. This is called a disconnect event.
A connect event that would come in handy for me is this. Let's say I drop a tag in my ex-wife's cell phone, I am out with my girl friend at a local restaurant. My phone sends me a text or email telling me that my ex is within the parameters. This may save my night of enjoyment and a long awaited fight with my ex-wife because I was able to make a quick exit thanks to this great application on my phone.

Here's a Shocker About Electromagnetic Radiation Dangers and Cell Phones
Here's a shocker about cell phones: the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which offers recommendations on U.S. cell emissions does not have a single health expert on its payroll. To top this they base these standards on advice given by outside experts, many of whom just happen to work directly for the wireless industry.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not have the power to set the guidelines for cell phone electromagnetic radiation and can only step in if a phone is shown to release dangerous emissions.
The electromagnetic radiation standards became even looser in 2004 when wireless industry designers and researchers discovered a way to change the software used in the phones, increasing the memory and developing the 'smart phone'. This basically doubled the amount of radio frequency reaching into the brain of an adult and quadrupling it for children.
The bone around a child's brain is thinner, their heads are smaller and their brain doubles in the first two years of life and keeps on developing until their early 20s. The electromagnetic radiation dangers are therefore more intense for younger minds.
This fact was established through the early pioneering work of Professor Om P. Gandhi, the leader of the University of Utah's electrical engineering department.
Has anyone ever thought to ask the question about how the amount of radio frequency which is emitted by a cell phone is determined? The standards are set using the head of a 200 lb man who ranked in the top 90th percentile of all military personnel in 1988.
Why should the amount of cell phone radiation entering our brains matter? Our bodies naturally work on electrical impulses, which allow our muscles to move and our minds to think. Note the word naturally however. The electromagnetic energy produced by man to operate microwaves, cell phones, computers, Wi-Fi, power lines and so forth, is man-made and not compatible with the naturally produced currents of our bodies.
Devra Lee Davis, PhD, MPH, Director of the Center for Environmental Oncology, University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and former environmental health scientist with the National Academy of Science has written in her book, "Disconnect: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Has Done to Hide It, and How to Protect Your Family", that electromagnetic radiation dangers related to human health will not be known for many years.
ABCNews.com spoke with Davis about her cell phone "expose" in October 2010. She believes cell phone radiation has risen to the point of being a National Emergency. Here are some quotes from her interview:
"...Here's what I know about brain cancer: It can take 40 years before it develops after exposure starts... after the bombs fell on Hiroshima, there was no increase in brain cancer 10 years later in the survivors...no increase 20 years later. The increase only showed up... after 40 years of exposure."
"It's not the amount of radiation, it's the nature of the signal... it's the pulsed, digital nature... constantly searching for a connection with a cell tower... in areas of weak reception... the radio signal has to increase as the phone seeks a connection."
Everyone loves the convenience of cell phone technology. I love the convenience of everything the cell phone can do, but we seriously need to protect ourselves from the health problems they are producing, along with all other electromagnetic radiation emitters, such as computers, Wi-Fi, cell phone towers, household appliances, power lines etc.
